ANTIQUE AUTHENTICATION SERVICE OF THE HONG KONG ART CRAFT MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION
China is a great nation with a brilliant culture spanning five thousand years. Among its legacy are large amounts of exceedingly beautiful culture relics that are dearly cherished by collectors both domestic and overseas. However, the flood of fakes has long been a problem and technological advances in recent decades have brought them ever closer to the genuine items, making the two extremely difficult to distinguish.
Aware of this problem and as an answer to the request of members of our trade as well as local and overseas buyers, the Hong Kong Art Craft Merchants Association ,shortly after its foundation, had set up an Authentication Committee(hereinafter referred to as “The Committee” to provide antique authentication service to help strengthen customers’ confidence. Reputable veterans in the trade have been appointed as members of the Committee and specialist and scholars have been invited as consultants. With the rich experience and knowledge of antiques of its members, the Committee has, in the past 40 years, authenticated over one million pieces of antiques, some of which were absolute rarities. Our Certificate of Antiquity enjoys worldwide reputation for its professionalism and is recognized by customs services and import and export trade departments internationally.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the support from the public, members of our trade and art lovers, and sincerely hope that they will continue to give us their comments so that we may further raise the standard of our service for our member and improve our work in promoting Chinese culture.
